If you know me if real life, I don't read novels, I don't have time to process other peoples problem. Movies stress me out, I only watch Chick Flicks if I know it ends well. The last movie I watched by my choice was The Help. The last movie I was forced to watch with my boys was The Three Stooges.
I am always drawn to informative self help books. You should see the parenting & relationship books I have & my kids will still be going to therapy for something I did to them. Right now I have a stack of books that include a business book, a handmade business book, a book on serging, & a book on how to sew with different types of fabrics.
Go ahead say it..... NERD!
So anyway, back to my point. I saw on my FB feed the other day that Martha Stewart is having a American Made Awards contest. In other words, a person can nominate their handmade business. There's big prizes & lots of money involved. So I joined in on the fun. You can stop by the site now & visit the nominees. It's another great way to see more Made in America products & a great way to support them! It may look glamourous but it's a lot of blood, sweat & tears! Is it worth it? Yes! Do I love what I do? Yes!
I have so much more to learn about running a business & making it all happen the right way! It's a journey, not a marathon. Along the journey there are many pit stops & lessons.
Voting opens on September 7 - 24, 2012! You can vote once a day!
So hop on over & visit lil' alice & all the other oh so talented!
