Hey everyone, I just wanted to pop in with some housekeeping updates on the shop.  First of all, the noisy fans are gone & the basement is dry.  It looks as if we just moved in, everything piled in a corner.  Earlier in the week I put lil' alice shop back in working order.  Today I had Dear Husband plug the cable back in the TV so I could pull up a chair & finish 115 Cheerleading Bows for some Huron Cheerleaders for the Fall.  Praise God the Detroit Tigers have been on every night this week.  I've passed the time away watching them.

Now that the shop is back in order & running, I am back to work and taking orders & shipping.  If there's something custom you are looking for, contact me thru my email.  lilalicesews (AT) gmail (DOT) com.  Also, there's a lot of pretties listed in the Ready To Ship department too.

Today I am over at Love Stitched with Brittany.  I am the sewing contributor but due to the basement situation I was unable to get a tutorial together, so I put one together from the kitchen.  I do love the kitchen, I love to cook, bake & clean it.  Hop on over & say Hi to Brittany & get the recipe for my Strawberry Lemonade.  It will taste delightful in the heat wave that has taken over the entire country.

Our 8 day vacation came to a screeching halt on Sunday.  We were unpacking the truck & I thought I would take a look at the basement because we knew there was some water damage.  When I opened the door I wasn't expecting it to smell like a 100 year old Michigan basement.

A week before we had heard the news that there was a hail storm that had come thru our neighborhood.  Golf ball size hail.  We sent my Dad over to survey the damage. It punched holes through our siding & clawed out 6 screens on the back of our house better than a mangy cat every could.  It was disappointing but nothing to run home to & end our vacation over.  So we decided to stay & keep in contact with our next door neighbor.  She called a few times letting us know the power was out & that there was a brown out.  She called to let us know to when the power was back on.  She kept us posted & we were very thankful for that.

Once we surveyed the basement, we knew some of the hodgepodge carpet we had down there needed to come out.  It was going to be a late night & hubs decided to call the professionals in & let them deal with it.  Good call hubs!  The Pro's arrived Monday morning and said ALL the carpet had to be ripped out (bonus:it was garbage day too)! And 2 feet of dry wall had to be cut.

GULP! This is where lil' alice studio is located & my eyes got big.  I was away for 8 days and ready to sew.  So I complied, there really wasn't another option anyway!)

So after 4 day of drying out the floor & the belongings, all potential mold & spores have been cleaned out!

So today, I am headed to the basement to reassemble lil' alice.  I don't have carpet or padding.  But I am making due with what I have because I think it's going to be awhile.  There's no use in complaining, it's not going to make insurance or construction work any faster.  So I am choosing to be happy with my current circumstances.
