Here's my life over the month of April. Sit back & enjoy the show!
Well April has almost passed me by, which means 34 days of school left for the boys & 34 days of work left for me! YEOW!!!! Here's my life over the month of April. Sit back & enjoy the show! Flying into NYC Had a snack here before we went on a 3 hour food tour in Greenwhich On the tour we passed this house in Greenwhich, it belonged to Leonard DiCaprio. I fell in love with the bold black door before I knew it was his. Our tour guide, Ernie, or was it Burt. It was one of those. He gave a great history lesson along the way about the village. I would highly recommend a food tour in one of the villages. My niece arrived the day I left for NYC. How often do I leave town, really? But when the plane landed my Man & little men were there to pick me up & we rushed over so I could smooch all over her! I get fresh farm eggs from a wonderful girlfriend. I call her my chicken lady. She can't tell me about the birds & the bees but she sure can tell me about the chickens & the rooster. We had family pics done on a very chilly & windy Sunday afternoon. My kids don't smile with their teeth, so I said I would pay them $5 for teeth smiles. They thought $5 each. Then at the end of the shoot, they rang up their totals and handed me the bill & I smiled and said $5 for the whole shoot. So we settled on a Large Shake from Mickey D's. Briella's first photo shoot. Allow me to brag, she slept for 2 hours before fussing for a bottle & needing a diaper change. She was literally a doll. She enjoyed the space heater & fuzzy blankets. She was living in the lap of luxury! Happy Friday! I have nothing but my sons home soccer game this weekend! So lots of sewing and a little bit of housework will fill my days!

Here's last month's tutorial, how to sew binding. I'm waiting on my new niece to arrive! But while I have been patiently waiting, I had the honor of making her crib set for her. I was more than tickled pink to make this for my sister in law & brother, especially since I have boys & there isn't a drop of pink or anything ruffly to be found in my house.
I made 3 very pink crib sheets, fabric was from various etsy shops. They are great quality fabric & very pink! I also made a gingham pink crib skirt, the base is muslim fabric & very inexpensive. I used my ruffle foot on my machine & oh-so-ruffly it is. That's about 7 yards of ruffles. The crib bumper can be bought at Joann's. Although with the new crib regulations, I think the measurement are a little off because the bumpers overlap a little bit. I made the covers & ties to go over each bumper and they turned out perfect & oh so pink! |
